Step One: Start the Class

The first step in earning your certification is to pick which certification class or classes you need. If you need more than one, check our package deals. Once you’ve selected your class or classes, pay the registration fee for your online certification or recertification class. You’ll have all of your study materials and your certification test in one convenient place.

Step Two: Take the Online Certification Test

When you’ve finished studying and you’re sure you know the course materials, you can attempt to take the certification test. This test has both multiple choice and true/false questions. There isn’t a time limit, so you can take your time and answer all of the questions to the best of your ability. Additionally, before you take the test, it is a good idea to give the class material another look as you won’t be able to when you start the test. If you don’t pass, you get unlimited retakes so don’t panic.

Step Three: Pass the Test and Get Your Certification 

When you pass your certification test, you’ll get a temporary digital copy of your certification. Print this out and hold onto it until you get your hard copy. This hard copy will come in the mail within three to five business days. As our classes are completely online, this saves Washington residents the stress of driving to an in-person testing center.

You can find the state of Washington in the Pacific Northwest portion of the United States. The Union admitted Washington to statehood in 1889 as the forty-second state. The state was given its name in honor of President George Washington. Washington claims the title of the eighteenth-largest state by area and the thirteenth-largest state by population. It has dense forests, arid basins, and mountainous regions. It is the leading producer of apples, pears, hops, spearmint, red raspberries, and cherries.

Washington state has a few prominent health concerns that affect the state as a whole. These top concerns are cancer, diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, and chronic respiratory diseases. These conditions are all over the state, but some are worse in areas with higher amounts of traffic and pollution levels.

Seattle

The biggest city in Washington is the city of Seattle with a population of 704,352 people. This population makes Seattle the biggest city in the state as well as the biggest city in the Pacific Northwest. Seattle ranks as the fourth-largest port city in the nation, and Seattle was originally a stretch of land on the shore of Elliot Bay. It got its name in 1852 when a settlement moved to its current location. This city has a rich cultural history, and it has a musical history with strong jazz and blues influences.

Seattle has a high rate of chronic respiratory conditions. These can be irritated by the fluctuations in the air quality. It typically fluctuates from moderate to good. Spokane

The second biggest city in Washington state is Spokane with a population of 215,973 as of the 2016 census. Spokane has the nickname of “Lilac City,” and it is known as the birthplace of Father’s Day. Settlers established a trading post in the area in 1810, and the railroad brought more people to the settlement in 1881.

Spokane has a relatively high cancer rate. In the state as a whole, around every one in ten adults have either had cancer or currently have it. This cancer rate can be due to lifestyle and obesity rates, the poorer air quality, and the aging population. Tacoma

Tacoma claims the spot of the third-largest city in Washington with a population of 211,277 people. Nicknamed the “City of Destiny” for western families who originally settled in this area to start new lives. In 1898, the discovery of gold led a population boom, and this declined during the Great Depression. This decline continued until the mid-1980s and the early 1990s. Since then, the residents have focused on reviving the town.

Tacoma has a high rate of people diagnosed with heart disease and heart-related issues. This can lead to an increased risk of stroke, heart attack, and other cardiovascular issues. Vancouver

The fourth-biggest city is Vancouver with a 2016 population of 174,826 people. Vancouver is the largest suburb of Portland. In 1857 the city was incorporated, and it has ranked as one of the best places to live in the nation. Vancouver has a rich history of manufacturing, transportation, and government. There is also a large port that serves this city and generates millions of dollars for the state each year.

Diabetes is the number one health problem in Vancouver with one in every eight adults diagnosed with this condition. If diabetes goes untreated, it can lead to more severe medical complications that can result in hospitalization.

Bellevue 

The fifth-largest city in the state is Bellevue, with a population of 141.400 people. The name Bellevue comes from the French term that means “beautiful view.” This city is the sixth wealthiest city in the state of Washington and people have described Bellevue as being a “Satellite City.” The downtown part of the city has a thriving business sector with over 1,300 separate businesses.

The biggest health concern in Bellevue is hypertension, and untreated hypertension can quickly lead to more complicated health problems like a stroke. Bellevue has an older population, and this can play a big roll in the overall health of the city. In addition to this, the higher-stress lifestyles that come with some of the jobs in Bellevue’s business sector can also contribute to the hypertension statistics.
