Colorado CPR AED Certification and Recertification Classes

Colorado is a busy, fun state with many rural areas. College students, working professionals, and people who live in the more rural areas may find it difficult to get their PALS, BLS, or ACLS certifications to fulfill their job requirements. Once you’ve signed up for the online course, you’ll be asked to pay the fee with a credit card. Once you register, you’ll immediately be able to get the study materials and exam. Our physician followed the current guidelines when he wrote all of our online training class materials. You can rest assured, it’s the latest training and it is updated every five years by our medical professional. Study as much as you like, from home, your work, or on the go. When you’re ready to take your certification or recertification exam, you can take as much time as you need. It is multiple choice and there is no time limit. You have unlimited chances to take the exam, so if you don’t pass the first time, you’ll get more chances. When you pass, you’ll get a digital copy of your certification or recertification card and certificate. A hard copy will be on its way to you in the mail within 3 to 5 days.

For anyone who needs their CPR/AED & First Aid certification, we have online training classes for you as well. Once your registered for one of our courses you’ll get immediate access to all the study materials and the exam. You can also take the exams until you pass because we offer unlimited exam retakes until you pass the test. Everyone from working professionals, people who work with the public, and students can benefit from our online CPR certification and recertification training classes. The convenience of the online format means you can study and take the exam 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at a time that works around your schedule. When you pass the exam, you’ll get access to print a temporary digital copy of your certification or recertification.

Health News in Colorado

Because this state is so populated and because Colorado relies on the gas and mining industries, cities like Denver ranked as the 11th worst city for ozone in the nation. Ozone can irritate a person’s lungs and cause respiratory problems like asthma, COPD, pneumonia, and chronic bronchitis. All of these conditions can worsen the longer the person is exposed to the environment.

Colorado is also a state that requires at least one staff member per school to have their CPR certification. Teachers and school administrators are allowed to take the CPR and AED/First Aid training class online or in-person. Colorado State Facts

The first European visitors to the Colorado area where the Spanish explorers in the mid-1500s. Initially claimed as land for Spain in 1706, the United States gained the eastern part of Colorado as part of the Louisiana Purchase in 1803, central Colorado in 1845, and the western portion of the state in 1848 after the Mexican War.

Colorado became the 38th state to be admitted into the Union on August 1, 1876. It ranks as the 22nd most populous state in the United States. This state has over 1,000 Rocky Mountain peaks that are over 10,000 feet high, and 54 that are higher than 14,000 feet. Originally, this was an agriculture and mining state. In more recent decades, it has since shifted to the service industries.

Denver

You can find the largest city and capital of the state of Colorado at the junction of Cherry Creek and South Platte River. Denver rises over 5,600 feet above sea level and the Rocky Mountains surround it. Affectionately known as “The Mile High City,” it has evolved into a hub for commercial and industrial business, as well as transportation. In 1858, prospectors first discovered gold in Cherry Creek. This set the stage for Denver to become a mining town.

Because of this history, Denver still relies on the mining and gas industry, as well as coal-based power plants. These things contributed to Denver’s ranking as the 11th worst state in the nation for air quality. The American Lung Association gave Denver a D and F in several counties for air quality levels.

Colorado Springs

The second largest city in Colorado is Colorado Springs, with over 465,000 people. This city was originally a resort community. It saw a rapid population increase with the discovery of gold in nearby Cripple Creek in mid-1980. Recreational sports and outdoor activities like rafting, horseback riding, hiking, and skiing dominate the area. Despite its beautiful location, poor air quality is a problem in Colorado Springs. On bad days, people with heart problems or respiratory issues are advised to stay indoors. The air quality can cause a rapid decrease in a person’s condition. They would need someone who has certification and more advanced ACLS training to help them once they arrive at a hospital for treatment. Breathing in the air for an extended period can easily trigger asthma attacks, lung inflammation, and infections.

Aurora

Aurora is the third largest city in the state of Colorado with around 361,000 residents. This city has a dedication to the arts and cultural events. There are dozens of museums, theaters, and events that go on year-round for locals and tourists to enjoy.

The leading problem in Aurora is the breakdown of mental health care. Many people don’t seek care when they need it over a fear their insurance won’t cover the charges. As many as 10% to 15% of adults report that they have had eight or more poor mental health days a month. Reports and researchers estimate that only around one-third of the people who need mental health help will get it.

Fort Collins

Fort Collins is a college town and the fourth largest city in the state with over 164,000 people. This city started as an army post in the 1860s, and in 1879, the city founded the Colorado State University as the only land-grant institution in the state. There is a multitude of tourist attractions like the Sweatsville Zoo, Fort Collins Museum, and the Colorado Brewer’s Festival. Lack of health insurance and unemployment are the two main health concerns with Fort Collins. Currently, it ranks ninth in the nation for its unemployment rate. If you combine these two factors, you get people who don’t seek medical attention until their conditions worsen because they don’t have the proper medical coverage or the money to pay out-of-pocket for care. This could also account for the higher readmission rates for people who are discharged from the hospital as they don’t follow up with their physician.

Lakewood

The fifth largest city in Colorado is Lakewood with 154,000 people. This city was a summer resort escape for wealthy Denver residents in the late 1800s. The population began to grow with the establishment of the Colorado Christian University in 1914. In 1941, the population rapidly increased again with the Remington Arms Company taking up residence in the city. This city has a rich cultural history that you can see at the Lakewood Heritage Center, and there are year-round draws for tourists.

Heart disease and cardiac-related incidents are problems for this picturesque city. The influx of tourists heightens these statistics each summer. According to the CDC, any large gathering places like churches, heritage centers, concert halls, and schools should have AEDs readily available. They also encourage the public to get involved and get their CPR training and certification, and even take it a step further by getting their BLS certification or their PALS certification if they work around children.

CPR News in Colorado

July 2017 – A man suffered a heart attack from a blockage of his left anterior descending artery, which is known as ‘the widow maker,’ while his friend looked on. Recalling the CPR he had learned in his Boy Scout days, the friend jumped into action and performed CPR until EMS arrived. To find out more, click here.
