PALS, BLS ACLS Certification and Renewal in Connecticut

For those people who are interested in or required to get their CPR or AED/First aid certification, we offer completely online comprehensive courses to help you get your certifications. Many people who work with the public are required to have their CPR certifications, and by getting yours early, you show your employer that you’ll take the initiative and go above and beyond their requirements. Register for our comprehensive CPR/AED and First Aid courses and get your certification. If you need a more advanced certification or recertification, our BLS, ACLS, and PALS classes are perfect. Once you’ve registered, you’ll get the current course materials at your fingertips. You can study from anywhere once you have a secure internet connection and an internet-ready device.

Once you feel comfortable with the study materials, you can take the multiple-choice and true/false test. There are no time limits on all of our exams and also we have unlimited exam retakes if you don’t pass the first time. However, you won’t be able to see your study materials once you’ve started the exam, so it’s good to be really sure of the class materials. When you pass one of our tests, if needed, you can print out a soft copy card from your printer to show your employer your certification. The hard copy card arrives in 3-5 business days.

Connecticut State Information

Connecticut was the fifth state to gain admission into statehood on January 9, 1778. It ranks as the 29th most populous state in the United States with a population of over 3 million people. This state is also the southernmost state in the nation, and it is the third smallest state by land area. Connecticut has the highest per-capita income level of any state, and it has the third-largest number of millionaires in a single state in the United States.

Bridgeport

The largest state in Connecticut in Bridgeport, and it has a population of 144,200 people as of 2016. Bridgeport has a thriving service-based economy including healthcare, financing, and restaurants. There is also a huge arts scene in the downtown sector with several performing arts groups, theaters, and museums.

A large number of people in Bridgeport suffer from obesity and heart-related issues like heart disease and stroke. Currently, roughly 30% of the adult population of Bridgeport identify as overweight or obese, and this rate has shot up from just over 21% in the past ten years. Obesity increases your chances of having a heart attack, and you never know when you may use a CPR certification. New Haven

The second-largest city in Connecticut is New Haven with a population of 129,779 people. You can find the prestigious Yale University here, and the entire town has a college-town feel to it. This city was one of the co-capital cities of the state until 1873. New Haven was the site of the first tree planting program in the nation, leading it to the nickname of the Elm City.

New Haven has a higher-than-average risk for chronic health problems, and several residents live with them because New Haven is very under-resourced. Stamford

The third-largest city is Stamford, and this city has a population of 128,278 as of 2016. Additionally, it is the seventh-largest city in New England. Stamford has one of the largest financial districts in the nation, and several Fortune 500 companies have headquarters here. It also has one of the most educated populations in the nation with every 9 out of 10 people graduating.

Stamford is a city that sees a high rate of mental health problems and overdoses among the population. The lack of care can contribute to this rising problem, as the city averages around one mental health worker for every 250 patients. In June, local police responded to over 32 overdoses, and they’re now going to be carrying Narcan to reverse the effects of an overdose, and they’re updating their CPR and BLS certifications as well. Hartford

The fourth-largest city in the state is also the capital, and Hartford has a population of 124,775. This city has the nickname of the “Insurance Capital of the World.” Additionally, Hartford is one of the oldest cities in the United States, and it dates back to 1635. It has also previously been named one of the richest cities in the nation, but now it’s one of the poorest.

Poverty plagues the city of Hartford with around 3 out of every 10 people living below the poverty line. This can make them more reluctant to go to the hospital when they need it, and this leads to worsening conditions like high blood pressure and mental health risks. The fifth-largest city in Connecticut is Waterbury, and as of 2016, it had a population of 110,366 people. This city has always had a strong manufacturing influence, and this led to the nickname of “Brass City.” It has a long and rich history and a thriving healthcare industry and currently helps to support the local economy.

Waterbury has one of the worst quality of living statistics in the nation. There are several large poverty-stricken areas of this city that drive this ranking. Additionally, obesity is another big problem for the residents of this city with roughly 1 in 5 adults identifying as obese.
